Day 9

Goodbye beach. We will miss you.

We decided to head to Orlando this evening instead of in the morning, so we could get 2 full days of Disneyworld, (and John had points for a free hotel). We will miss the beach, it went really fast, but we are excited to do Disney for a couple of days. Hopefully, I will have the energy to blog our disney days. Good night.

Day 9

The fountains on Clematis Street

Laney was quite comfortable on the beach ALL day. She took a nap, waited on the waves, and posed like a supermodel.

Spent the whole day on the beach. Graci rode the waves on her boogie board, caught shrimp and crabs for hours. We've been taking turns taking Laney up for a nap, but this day she decided she wanted to sleep on the beach, and she did for a couple of hours. It has been so perfect, I don't want it to end.
We ate dinner at a burger place in Palm Beach Gardens, it was 80's night with a dj and all, Laney danced the night away, she called it a "party". We then headed downtown to Clematis street to let the girls play in the fountains, we walked the new pier, it was a very nice evening. Kept the girls up until after 11.

Day 8 part 2

Those 2 were up to something.

In an effort to stay out of the sun for the day, we checked this place out, turned out to be very fun. It was a dollar to get in and we were there for a couple of hours. It was a place full of Playmobil toy sets. The girls thought it was so great. We were gone most of the day, so it is 8:00 and we are sitting out at the pool still. I think we are going to have ice cream for dinner here in a minute, it's vacation, why not.

Day 8 part 1

We went to Loggerhead Marinelife center today, where they rescue sea turtles and nurse them back to health and then set them free. It was pretty neat. The one at the top (first one) had been hit by a boat twice and its shell was all broken. They put foam in the cracks and pump medicine through them to get them to heal faster. The one on the table was getting ready to be released, they were tagging it, measuring it, etc... Laney would have jumped in there with them if she could we found her past the ropes many times. This place was done by donations and volunteers.

Day 7

Vacation just wouldn't be vacation for John if we didn't find an arcade and go kart place. So, that is what we did tonight.
After a nice relaxing day at the beach, (we were out a long time today, girls loved the beach) we went on a hunt to find something fun to do. We have noticed that many things close early, well actually we just get going too late. We headed to a play place for them to play because we weren't really ready for dinner, that place was closed. So, we ended up at the "Fun House", Graci got to drive a go kart for the first time and Laney got to ride with daddy, (she looks like a peanut next to him). We went to a little Mexican restaurant along the way back, it was ok, but I do miss Los Bravos.

This crab was at the door to greet us when we got back to the condo, he was a little misplaced. Laney picked him up, not sure what he was, he came out of his shell and she FLIPPED out. John saved him, returned him to the outdoors. Great day, they are going way too fast though.

Graci really likes the ice cream papaw.
Here are a few more pics from Day 6 at the zoo.

Day 6

Graci's Blog-
My sisster compared to three bears.
We went to the West Palm Beach zoo today, I have been coming here for 30 years and I have never been to the zoo, (i don't think). It was a great zoo. The exhibits were really nice and unique. Kids got to play in the water park and again they were beat by the end. We came back to swim and then went to dinner. The ocean has been so rough, it just knocks Laney down. John and Graci were able to build a cool sand turtle though. Storms are coming through this evening, but the weather has been perfect.

Day 5

We are wearing these kids out. This is what happened as soon as we got back from dinner tonight, they dropped. (Notice Laney still has sunglasses on though). Yet another beautiful day today. We decided to walk along the beach to get some lunch, we thought the place wasn't too far, but man it was a haul. John ended up carrying Laney on his shoulders the whole way there because she would not walk along the water. John and Graci decided to walk on the street on the way back and I thought it wouldn't be too bad to take Laney the beach way. I really thought I was gonna die, I felt like I was in the Sahara carrying a 30lb. backpack. Laney would not walk at all on the way back, it was rough, that lunch adventure took 3 1/2 hours, I can say I worked off my lunch.
The highlight of the trip for Laney has been chasing lizards (they're everywhere) and riding the "alligator" (elevator) She wakes up each morning asking to ride the "alligator"
We took it easy for dinner, did some Italian, walked a little downtown and headed back. We were in the sun so much today, Graci was beat. Hope this weather keeps up, its perfect.

Graci caught a big one!!!! This is what John wanted to do for Father's Day, drift fishing. Seas were rough today, so we weren't sure Graci could handle it. She loved it!!! Especially when she caught that big fish. Laney and I got to have some special time swimming together, she is getting very brave in the water. It was a great day, so thankful my kids have such a great Dad. Thankful that John and I both have such great dads!!!!

day 3 & 4

Day 3 and 4

Started out windy with thunder and lightning, but we stuck it out at the beach and it turned beautiful. John and Graci snorkeled again, finding more unique fish and another large something that scared Graci to death, she ended up on top of daddy's back when she saw it. Went to dinner at 2 Georges which was on the intercoastal right on the water in Boynton Beach, our dinner table was a swing, it was cool.

Took John to Sailfish buffet for Father's Day brunch and him and Graci are going to try deep sea fishing in a little bit. Should be interesting.

The picture of Laney kind of sums up what eating out has been like with her each night. Overall, she has been good, when we do what she wants:)

P.S. Papaw Bob, Graci seems to like the garbage can ice cream.
Happy Father's Day!
